"A compressor failed and took our line down for three weeks. Our old policy had no equipment breakdown, so we ate all of it. Rainbow rebuilt the program with breakdown and business income and it cost less than what we were already paying."

Garland Business Insurance FAQs
What is equipment breakdown coverage and do I need it?
It covers mechanical and electrical failure of your own equipment, which standard commercial property excludes. If a compressor, machine tool or major electrical component fails internally, this is the coverage that responds, usually including resulting spoilage and business interruption. For a Garland shop where one failure halts production, it is essential.
I manufacture a product. Is products liability included in my general liability?
Generally yes, but the limit and the class code matter enormously and carrier appetite for manufacturing classes varies wildly. A class one carrier declines outright, another writes as routine. That variance is why shopping 56+ carriers matters more for manufacturers than for retail.
How is my commercial roof written?
Ask specifically, because it can be replacement cost or actual cash value, and there may be a separate wind and hail deductible stated as a percentage of the building limit. On a commercial limit, one percent is a large dollar figure. Send us the policy and we will read it.
Should I collect certificates from my subcontractors?
Yes, and it protects your own premium. Uninsured subs can have their injuries and liability charged to your policy at audit, raising your rate retroactively. Collecting a certificate from each one costs nothing.
