Frisco SR-22 Insurance and Filing
An SR-22 is a certificate your carrier files with Texas DPS proving you carry state minimum liability. It is a filing, not a policy type. We write the policy behind it, file electronically, and explain why Frisco quotes come back the way they do.

Frisco straddles two counties
Why the quote is higher than the violation alone explains
Do not let it lapse
"Two-day gap when I switched companies online and suddenly I am dealing with DPS. Rainbow filed it electronically, explained the two-year rule properly, and pointed out my deductible was set in a way that made no sense for hail country."

Frisco SR-22 Filing FAQs
Frisco is in Collin and Denton counties. Does that matter?
Not for the SR-22 requirement, which is statewide. It matters for pricing, because carriers rate on the garaging address and the two county sides of Frisco price differently. Give us the exact street address so the quote holds at issue.
My gap in coverage was two days. Do I really need an SR-22?
If DPS imposed the requirement, yes, regardless of how short the gap was. This is one of the most common reasons Frisco drivers need a filing, and it carries the same two-year obligation as any other qualifying violation.
Why is my premium so high when my record is otherwise clean?
Usually the vehicle rather than the violation. Newer cars carry sensor and camera systems that must be recalibrated after even minor repairs, and EV repair economics push it higher still. Carriers price physical damage cost separately from the violation surcharge.
Should I raise my deductible to offset the surcharge?
Sometimes, and it is worth running the math rather than guessing. Moving comprehensive from 500 to 1,000 dollars lowers the premium, but Collin County hail means you may actually use that deductible. We will show you both numbers and let you decide.
